So what to do when a Central Park picnic takes a rain delay….?
Take the girls to brunch and a bit of culture!
No need to look all too far away – been meaning to check out the PUNK exhibit since admiring all the rocker red carpet style from the Met Gala… while equally pondering just who were the stylists behind some of not-so-punk-tastic looks!?
And wow who knew what genius could be concepted with a few safety pins, studding, papier-mâché, spray paint & garbage bags!
BONUS discovery: new found love for the talent behind Maison Martin Margiela, impressive!

Sometimes mistakes are made to happen.
Not only a great validation for looking at ‘the glass half full’ – but to challenge yourself to make the most of certain situations…
Example at hand: when a friend accidentally spills a bit bleach on the left cheek of your favorite deep scarlet red skinnies!
After a few moments of saving face by holding back the tears (note to self: become less attached to wardrobe!) that curious little light bulb went off. The bleach spot actually came out a very complimentary color… a magic bit of research later, it was time to test out a touch of reverse tie dye:
COLLECT THE GOODS:
-bleach
-elastic bands
-big bucket / washing sink
-rubber gloves
-heavily pigmented colored jeans looking for a new look!
WALK THE WALK:
1. soak jeans in cold water, wring/spin cycle to damp
2. twist & turn the jeans as tight as you can (this is where rubber gloves become essential!)
3. create knotted areas and tie securely with elastic bands (these are the areas that stay colored)
4. create a bucket/tub of bleach water, the suggestion is to dilute say 1/3bleach to 2/3water
5. let soak for 1-6 hours depending on your desired look (note: when dried, the bleach area will lighten even more)
6. …if you’re a risk taker like me, use your discretion but I dripped straight bleach on certain areas to heighten the process!
7. untie & unwind, rinse in water, hang to dry to set in bleach
8. give them a wash through the laundry before wearing for a final set and to remove some of the bleach scent
*note* the bleach can reduce the strength of the denim so I highly suggest making sure the crotch/lower bum area of your jeans is part of the inside of a knot to reduce bleach exposure & eventual holes…!

I know we’re always posting about the beautiful women who inspires us, enrich our desires & passion to dream and reach for the stars…. however there’s no need to be sexist here, there are often very special men in our lives that deserve a spotlight as well.
Today (in great honorary of my new love for #ThrowbackThursday!) I would like to take a moment to thank a dear dear friend of mine.
Jonas has enjoyed many ’5 minutes of fame’ along his journey of life up to this point: with great success through TV + Film, owning a thriving Fashion Boutique in Brasil, astounding recognition as an interior designer and winning great accolades as a top host in the Rocky Mountains of Canada – to name just a few!
I am proud to say I’ve offered him up another, with giving him a gigantic piece of my heart for being such an influencer in the first footsteps of Sienna Ray… it’s on his very kitchen table that the first bag of Sienna Ray was created; with his genuine love to see me succeed that boosted my confidence to step into the world of handbag design.
Therefore I was able to share forward with you all a gift from Jonas, naturally he became the muse & name behind my effortlessly chic jona clutch. Always being up for a good time, big or small (ok not sure if Jonas understands ‘small’ as everything he touches in this world is extraordinary!) each moment alongside him is always special.
This little jona clutch grew along the first years of Sienna Ray with many tweaks and updates… with many of you making me feel honored by sharing, to this day, how you still use your clutches from five plus years ago – love you!

…well for the selected few to start – aka for the humble abode of own, my NYC pied-à-terre to be exact.
It’s a “cozy” kind of place. Truly makes up for lack of space with a splash of character here and there. Hence, why not take the opportunity to customize a few things. And as many are already are aware of, I have a little thing known as a love for soft silky leather!
Process was by far a ‘learn as I go’ experience. Just the way I like it, throwing myself head first into the challenge. Watch as I turn IKEA into Sienna Ray with a few simple tools and a ton of patience:

Nº 1 discover the perfect base, cheap + cheerful IKEA klippan sofa

Nº 2 select the leathers!

Nº 3 one layer at a time...

Nº4 and then really start to make a mess!

Nº5 ask me the story about the 'upside down stapler...!'

Nº6 bonus workout conditions flipping a sofa ten times...

Nº7 and let's not forget about matching pillows

Nº8 and voila a Sienna Ray Sofa!

Nº9 view from above

Nº10 can you tell I'm proud of this little baby!?

Nº11 mister dogbear equally likes his new home.
..stay tuned for more Sienna Ray Bespoke!

It’s a New Year, and along with that comes unbelievably cool technology introduced in 2013. Keeping up with technology is very similar to keeping up with fashion, trends are always changing and you have to “be in the know”. Futuristic and fabulous, these gadgets will have you gasping for more.

For the Technology & Social Media Obssessed: Futuristic Specs
These models busted out Google’s new tech on the runway during NYFW! AH-mazing
Google has teamed up with a company called Vuzix creating futuristic specs for people who can’t bear not to be connected.
More of a headset than a pair of spectacles, the Vuzix projects a small colour image in front of your eye, runs the Android operating system and connects via Bluetooth to your phone. The screen could show you text messages, emails or map directions.
What this device’s killer app will turn out to be is anyone’s guess. It could, for instance, use face recognition to remind you of fellow partygoers’ names, their CVs and their latest Facebook status updates and tweets – never be stuck for small talk again!
When can I buy one? Summer 2013 for under $500.

For the Tree Huger/Energy Saver: The Nest
The “nest” was created by Tony Fadell, a man that worked for Apple Inc for years, and actually helped Steve Jobs created the ipod.
This little device is an at home “learning thermostat” that looks supper chic. Its screen is slightly domed glass; its barrel has a mirror finish that reflects your wall. Its color screen glows orange when it’s heating, blue when it’s cooling; it turns on when you approach it, and discreetly goes dark when nobody’s nearby.
The Nest has Wi-Fi, so it’s online. It can download software updates. You can program it on a Web site.
You can also use a free iPhone or Android app, from anywhere you happen to be, to see the current temperature and change it — to warm up the house before you arrive, for example. Go shopping all day and then a few minutes before you come home turn on your heat from your phone & BAM your in business baby! The Nest is supposed to program itself — and save you energy in the process. For $250 this is an amazing 2013 purchase, check out the video here.

For the Anger Management Tech Lover: Bendy Smartphone
Yes, the bendy screen smartphone. A bendy screen smartphone is a new technology touting a screen that we can bend! Yep. Who doesn’t want to bend and twist their phone into silly shapes sometimes?
It’s the best way to let out your anger, other than just throwing the thing against a wall. Using Samsung’s OLED display technology, we can be expecting a new phone model that will allow us to bend it, roll it up, and hit it with a hammer. (YES!) We already have the specs for this new piece of technological genius as well. The phone debuted as the “Galaxy Skin” (wait..did that say…skin?) features a high-res 800×480 AMOLED screen, 8mp camera and 1Gb of RAM as well as a 1.2GHz processor.
Don’t be surprised to see this new technology implemented into bendy screen tablets released shortly after. SO COOL!

For The Two-Wheeled Explorer: Photojojo Bikepod
Whipping around on your bike all day, you’re bound to catch some blink-and-you’ll-miss-it scenes. But, luckily, there is a gadget here to assist. Strap this little tripod doodad to your handlebars and you will never miss a camera-worthy moment again — at least not while riding your two-wheels. And we know what you’re thinking, yes, it is durable and will protect your beloved iPhone in case a tumble does occur. Buy it here ;) $45 and worth every penny.

For The Paranoid And OCD: Lockitron
We’re all familiar with that dreaded “wait, did I lock the door?” feeling when we’re about mid-way from point A to point B. Well, a new gadget is here to change all that. Lockitron gives you the ability to put your worrisome mind at ease wherever you are. It features a cool cover that fits on most deadbolt locks and has built-in Wi-Fi, so you can check up on the status of your door. It also allows you to lock and unlock from afar. Amazing, right? $125

My name is
Kaylee Johnston, up-and-coming electro pop singer. I write all of my own material and I’m currently working on my debut album. It’s Influenced by spirited females such as Heart, Joan Jett, Robyn, and Lady Gaga, my sound is up beat, fresh, and iconic.
My Sienna Ray bags are the perfect accessory for my busy life. Aside from the obvious items (cash, credit card, and keys), I never forget to bring a bold MAC lipstick shade and fav Barkleys organic mints. You’ll also find a little ziplock full of almonds floating around in there somewhere.
‘I have two Sienna Ray bags and I couldn’t tell you which one I love more. I have a light yellow leather bag that is really comfortable to wear, and I usually wear it on sunny days. My other bag is white leather with black salmon skin detail… this one is my go-to bag for late nights and good times!’ – Kaylee Johnston

Sienna Ray & Co., lovable leather handbags & accessories, has spread its wings from Vancouver to NYC’s Mott Street in a PopUp shop sure to please. The boutique, which will be open from Thanksgiving weekend until Christmas Eve, offers a selection of special edition handbags, clutches, cosmetic cases and leather goods catering to the East Coast woman. For the first time Sienna Ray & Co. will debut a capsule collection of men’s small leather goods, RAY87, including wallets, cardholders, and laptop bags. The PopUp will be a true reflection of the brand’s marketing statement, ‘luxurious from the outside in’, capturing the playfulness in the overall shopping experience for it’s customers.
The boutique will embody a similar vision to the handbags: clean and inquisitive, giving customers the opportunity to touch and feel the product, also to see that there really is more then meets the eye. Each handbag is multifaceted just like the New York woman, a bag to rely on that can be with you and enhance your energy from day to night.
“Immediately when we signed the lease I wanted to include other inspiring designers in this opportunity and initiated a series of events ‘PopUp in a PopUp’. I wouldn’t be where I am today without all the help and support from friends, family and industry successors. I feel the PopUp shop is a true test to the brand. I see crisp white walls, edited product, multiple color stories; with accent of our signature lining from dress forms to delicately wrapped Christmas parcels, surrounding the atmosphere with holiday love and gift giving.
The location could not be more fitting in the high-end independent design area of NoLita. I feel extremely humbled to be in a radius of talented designers and brands. I am equally so proud to embrace my Vancouver roots, being situated on a prime shopping trail of Canadian success starting with Artizta on Broadway/Prince, John Fluevog footwear on Mulberry and now Sienna Ray & Co. around the corner.”- Founder & Creative Director, Natalie Kathleen

As we know, New Yorkers run off caffeine… it is almost like a “cool cult” to be at the latest happenin coffee shop in town. Whether you are a local, or just visiting here are our top pics, def give these spots a try!
#1. la colombe

With 3 locations in NYC (2 being located on lafayette st) this place is what we call OFFICIAL. Our fav location of the 3 is by far NOHO, due to the fact that it is pretty big with plenty of space to sit and have a convo with a friend. or get lost in a good book. The inside has an industrial vibe, and we are also suckers for the cute headscarves that all the baristas wear. Two warnings: there is NO wifi or soy milk on the premises.
#2. Think

I might be a little bias on this one, but it has to be my personal favorite of the bunch! Although the coffee is deff a little pricey, it is more about the “experience”. Think has 4 locations in NYC (2 which have free wifi) but I would have to say that the bleecker street spot is the best. It is in such a cute area filled with local boutiques and shops. The coffee is great, they are socially and environmentally conscious, the workers wear cute fidora hats, and the music is cool. What’s not to love?
#3. Gasoline Alley

Gasoline Alley is a cool spot located in Noho on Lafayette (btw Houston & Bleecker). It is supper small, made for in-and-out visits, but can give you that morning fix in a hurry! The coffee is strong, but made well, and the donuts are from a DOUGH (a bakery in Brooklyn) and are to die for!
#4. Joe

This place is known for the consistency, which is really good coffee every time! …btw it is cash only!
#5. Ost Cafe

Located in the east village, this cool dig has floor to ceiling windows that open and give a beautiful vibe with excellent light. Another plus of this place is that it is very affordable $2 for coffee without sacrificing the taste. Our only compliant is that it’s very small and sometimes hard to get a table. (but well worth it)
#6. Irving

Located in the Gramercy district, this place is sure to please. It’s cosiness and space is just perfect, not to mention the delish coffee! This is also a great spot for lunch. You might even spot a celeb or two here!

Apparently, Vancouver takes this Oyster thing very seriously – no shyness to the offering of buck-a-shucks in Vancouver…!

Rodney’s Oyster House
The low-tide special offers one type of oyster for $1.50 a shuck, daily from 3 to 6 p.m. Not the best deal in town, but wide selection and fun ambience. Hunky servers make it a good catch for girls’ night out. 1228 Hamilton St., 604-609-0080

Oyster Seafood & Rawbar
A small, charming pearl tucked into the old Stock Exchange Building. Buck-a-shuck daily from 4 to 7 p.m.; or an 18-piece mix for $36 any time of day. Romantic vibe for date nights. 475 Howe St., 604-899-0323

Cork & Fin
Buck-a-shuck on Monday nights – all night long – with more than one local variety to choose from. The champagne mignonette at this small Gastown boite is the fizziest around. 221 Carrall St., 604-569-2215

Coast
Slide up to the bar from 3 to 5 p.m. for buck-a-shuck. Smile nicely at the bartender and he might slip in some Kusshis or other premium varieties. Good selection of East Coast oysters. 1045 Alberni St., 604-685-5010

Joe Fortes Patio
And, I make my final selection (good times last night!) as Joe Fortes, they have $1.00 oysters too, AND $5.00 glasses of wine plus 50% off their appy menu in the bar.
Vancouver, we have lots of options.

One of the coolest spots in NYC by far has to be the High Line park, located on Manhattan’s West Side. It runs from Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District to West 34th Street, between 10th & 11th Avenues. Founded by community residents in 1999, this city sanctuary was built on an historic freight rail line elevated above the streets on Manhattan. From catching some rays, to having a picnic, or even hosting a runway show, the High Line has it all. Almost everyday of the week this public park has an event or attraction for it’s visitors. If you live in NYC, or are just visiting this is a M U S T see.

What can possibly be better than drinking beer on the street and eating oysters all day? The Stone Street Oyster Festival is coming up next Saturday, Sept 22nd in NYC’s Financial District. The party is located on Stone Street and Hanover Square- hosted by financial district stalwarts Ulysses Folk House and Harry’s Café and Steak. The two downtown drinking-dens have put together the party for 10 years running, Good music, fun company, beer + champagne + oyster = a done deal! See you there. xx

Times Square is the breeding ground for tourists in NYC, stretching from west 42-47th street. It is jammed packed with 100 million things going on all at the same time. For some, it can even be a bit overwhelming. The best part about the area are by far it’s billboards, even a native New Yorker can appreciate a fabulous marketing campaign and creative ways to show it. Here are some top trending billboards right now. GAGA & RhiRhi have been getting A LOT of attention over the past few days for their perfume adds…nudity and provocative poses are creating quite the stir around town. (personally, we love them so power to em…if you’ve got it flaunt it)
What do you guys think?

It is a B E A U T I F U L day in New York City & the fashion elite are about and about decked from head-to-toe. Spend your Wednesday in the West Village with the trendiest boutiques in town. Smaller boutiques= a better/exclusive shopping experience with unique pieces that you will not find anywhere else.
SAMPLE is our new fav spot to hit located between Elizabeth and Bleecker street. Besides being located in a great area, SAMPLE is famous for it’s “basic” knitwear that will keep you coming back for more. The boutique also carries a line, Vessel, which is produced and designed right here in New York City. Not only are the pieces fashion forward, the designer will take your measurements for a custom fit. After you have checked out all of the fab ready-to-wear hit the accessories wall. Our personal favs are the adjustable crushed diamond pyrite cocktail rings by Forma from Italy.
One more thing you should see in the boutique…SIENNA RAY!! We are now being carried by in the store, how fabulous is that? I smell a shopping spree.

The glory days right now… those bonus summer-like bright days & nights – where the biggest dilemma in a day can often be based around “do I wear my new fall tights or push one more outing in my fav sundress before it’s too late!?”
In the meantime, don’t take too long to decide and get one final nibble & sip out and about in the goodness of the fresh outdoors:

2. a few block south, above & beside the bustling Flatiron highstreet, grab a late aftn glass & snack up top Eatily's Birreria

3. ...and to cap off the day with a bit of exercise, there's always the glorious ping pong sprucing up The Standard Biergarten el fresco ambience

NYFW is in full swing…if you catch yourself between shows, why not threat yourself to a local guilty pleasure? Friday afternoon in the Flat Iron @ Madison Square park is the place to be. Enjoy this HOT HOT HOT afternoon indulging in some shake shack delights. Just one thing…prepare for that line!
Happy Friday! xx

Fashion week does not start until tomorrow…what’s a girl to do on this mighty fine Wednesday in New York City? Let’s make it a West Village kind of night @ Windsor! Today just happens to be the opening of football season, Giants verse Cowboys…and I know what you thinking (football really?) but it’s more about the eye candy then the game. The Windsor is not your typical sports bar, it is a SUPER CUTE small spot on on west 4th street with “social sensibility” (meaning a good crowd). Not only is the crowd and decor on point, but so is the food. So put on those skinny jeans and grab your girls after work for happy hour.
A sports bar in NYC not filled with tourists TOUCHDOWN ;) See you there xx

Well priced $6 cocktails, twenty-one (yes that’s plenty of) TV’s, and boasting of opening hours as early as 10:30am for top events – and with the +5 time London time difference it’s ‘game on’ at all times!

NOHO Slainte, beers on bowery + healthy happy hour!
Get cozy in this intimate Irish drinkery. With 20 beers on tap, and a two-for-one beer and wine happy hour special weekdays from noon to 8 p.m this establishment is surely to receive plenty of support!

Murrary Hill, rooftop timeouts.
Plethora of drink specials, plasma TV’s, cushy sofas and breathing room with touristy-worthy views via the rooftop patio. Has weekday Olympic Fix written all over it with Olympics fix while enjoying happy hour specials such as $3 drafts and $4 well liquor drinks from 11am-8pm M-F.

Upper East Side Dorians, English 'charming' included.
Bring your Prep to mingle alongside Co-eds with gold metal class. In exchange for cold beer and raging burgers you’ll need to ensure your man dons a collared shirt to grant access to the Olympic hangout north of 83rd.
Bonus play:
Now this could make for a very interesting drinking game…

Enjoy & you will more than likely spot a few Sienna Ray girls at these events – under our stylish shell we are all-star sports fans…! xx

Spring is the full swing! Here at Sienna Ray we are so excited to flaunt our new “field of dreams” SS12 collection filled with pops of bright color to accentuate any outfit! We also feel that there are some necessary wardrobe staples that every woman should get in her closet for spring 2012. We understand the terms “ballin on a budget” – basically look rich and shop cheap (as blogger Denny Wenny would say). Here are our tip picks- do I smell a shopping spree coming on? ;)

This bright yellow lemon structured blazer from Top Shop is a MUST! We love the color and it screams spring. For $132.00 it is a piece that will stay in your closet for quite some time.

This bright pink blazer from H&M is the definition of chic, and for $29.99- WHAT A STEAL! Can we please have this in every color??!!!

We have to be a bit bias ;) These sky blue “avenue” leather loafers are from Sienna Ray & Co.’s SS12 collection. They are made with the softest lambskin leather, “smooth as butter”. These babies are supper light, and will give you the illusion of walking on air! The avenue loafers go for $288…after all, shoes are a girls best friend.

Get your sparkle on! These glitzy glam flats are also from Sienna Ray & Co.’s SS12 collection. The “Louise” flats are the perfect summer shoe- from the beach to the Hamptons they are extremely wearable. They are made from the finest leathers…$149 & made to last! Every woman loves a little sparkle!

Step up your color game this spring! Colored jeans are in! Put away those old blue or black jeans, and get daring. These coral skinnies are from Paris Blues for Alloy, don’t worry you won’t have to break the bank- $29.90.

IN LOVE with these Jcrew tall café capris $89!!! They come in 9 different color options, what a perfect pair of pants for work! Spice up your office wardrobe with some color.

Simple, clean, and comfortable (in a variety of colors) for $ 17. Victoria Secret’s boyfriend T is a necessity for spring, and that’s that!!

What is summer really without a maxi dress? If this AX Paris bag over vest dress is not already in your closet then you are committing a fashion crime. For £20.00 get on it!

Three words: spring time swag! We are ♥’n the “Dalilha” sunnies by Jimmy Swagg. Big framed and oversized glasses are SO in for spring, get with the now. For $50 these shades will keep you cool all summer.

Sizzle this spring/summer in swimwear by Askua Collections. Now I know what your thinking, not everyone is ready to bust of the bikini. Aksua also does customized bathing suits to fit on any body type. We love their collections of color and prints, summa time fierce!

Well we had to save the best for last!! This “babette” mini-cross body by Sienna Ray & Co. is our #1 seller for spring $349 (a pretty penny yes but so worth it!). Whether you opt to grab the slim top handle or rock the adjustable chain strap, this bag is ready to go anywhere at anytime.

Boom, done, over. The “jolie” everyday satchel by Sienna will be your new best friend. Big enough to use as a carry-on for traveling, and versatile enough to be your go-to everyday thang $449.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of top male fashion blogger, Denny Balmaceda, visit our new office & showroom in NYC’s union square. We were inspired by his vintage/thrifted outfit & asked him to rock our brand new “medusa” doctor bag from Sienna Ray & Co.’s unreleased autumn.winter 2012 collection. His confidence, sophistication, and overall “swagg” made our medusa really stand out. A special thank you to his photographer Lee Reyes- it was a pleasure working with you guys! xo

Spring fashion made an appearance showcasing muted tones and dusted pastels, and of course black & white classics (with the occasional pops of color). We must say- the designer who gets our “you dressed her best” honor for the 2012 SAGG awards is ………(drum role please)- MARCHESA!

designers are taking advatnge of this new trend
The ombre trend has been pretty major in fashion this year & the beauty world caught on as well! From our clothes to our hair & right down to our nails, everyone’s been rocking something with a gradient. In the recent Jen Kao SS2012 show at NYFW, the models were caught backstage with manicures called “Lethal Love” by CND. These were some amazing airbrushed ombre nails that went from black to gorgeous jewel-toned coloured tips. Manicurists around the world have been trying to recreate this look without an airbrush- yet still have that same glam look. We have the inside scoop just for you! Now you can try it yourself from home…

Cant wait to see how your nails come out! Post some pics for us xo

Rag & Bone- fav look of the collection

Rag & Bone- wouldnt our sky blue makayla look PERFECT with this?
Rag & Bone pre-fall 2012 is less about thematic journeys and more about day-to-day living, and their focus is on building out classics that the Rag & Bone girl has come to rely on year-round (meaning more wearable looks…thank god!). The key pieces that builds the foundation of their collection includes: sharply tailored blazers, utility vests, and a sturdy shoe: Their best-selling Newbury boot.

Diane von Furstenberg- fav look of the collection

DVF pre-fall 12: taking classic brand pieces and reinventing them for an updated soho chic vibe
First off- LOVE LOVE LOVE this collection, one of our favorite font-runners of pre-fall 12. Not only does each piece stay 100% true to the DVF brand, they actually found a way to modernize each classic staple. It is extremely wearable, and the styling on this runway show was FLAWLESS. Diane herself describes the mood as “Macadam diva” (“Macadam” meaning asphalt—named after its inventor, John McAdam). “t wasn’t just the silver studs and grommets on belts, jackets, and tops—though there were many—but also the chains that trimmed a soft knit tank; black leather lapels that topped a ladylike tweed jacket; vixen-worthy gloves that went with a flirty baby-blue blouse. It’s rock ’n’ roll with a rebellious attitude,” creative director Yvan Mispelaere.

Jason Wu- fav look of the collection

Jason Wu pre-fall 12: can I have this dress NOW?
One of the youngest designers to show his collection for pre-fall 12, and how it did go you ask? NAILED IT!! The execution of this collection was mind blowing, we would wear every single piece. The designer himself states, “People no longer dress for an occasion because every day is an occasion; there’s no hard line between day and evening.” (everyday is a fashion show? bring it!) *side not: his collaboration with Target hits stores in Feb…Jason Wu that we can actually afford, score!

Nina Ricci- fav look of the collection

Nina Ricci pre-fall 12: 1 word= glamours
At first glance, this collection looks supper “ladylike” … that word that springs to mind, because of the abundance of pleats, bows, lace, jeweling, lingerie, fur, and general all round “cocktailania”. Except, it doesn’t really quite say enough. Somehow, the artistic direction Peter Copping can take all that and transform it-by taking it down to something that feels unfussy and undone and anything but uptight—and yet keep everything looking ravishingly beautiful.

Narciso Rodriguez- fav look of the collection

Narciso Rodriguez pre-fall12: at least this pic shows 3 more fab looks! totally badass
New York based designer Narciso took a lot of inspiration from this collection from art. “We experimented with tailoring techniques to create a new type of structure,” he said, pulling out a silk-blend sheath with stretch jersey panels. “I looked at different ways of fitting, like working with these corset details from the archives. There was a lot of attention to detail.” Whether it’s the the technical cross-body harnessing on elegant paint-splattered dresses or the generous selection of multi-textured, color-block knits in silver-gray, creamy beige, and shocking red , that attention to detail has seriously paid off because it its STUNNING!

The Row: fav look of the collection

The Row pre-fall 12: androgynous, young, & "now"
What can I say? Save the best for last ;) We are such a big fans of The Row- Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen are some of the biggest trend-setters in the industry. They have come such a long way from their days on Full House- to now owning/designing for their own fashion house! The collection is so fresh- with a bit of 70′s influence. This is the only collection I can describe as “young” with a sophisticated feel. The Olsen’s can do no wrong, blown away for pre-fall 12 …can’t wait to see what’s coming next.
Do you know how hard it is to only post 2 pictures when the whole collection is AH-MAZING! Hope you like our top pics for pre-fall 2012 xo

Up your nail-art game! We are obsessed with these artsy stick on options. Just when we thought we have seen it all-along comes Sephora with their totally rad entry into the category. The new Sephora by OPI Trend Tips are the same trusty old nail polish strips we’ve all come to know and love, but in an amazing array of super-cool new patterns. (much more variety & better quality then Sally H.)
#4.

genious designer Jason Wu for Target!
Next month, Jason will debuts his 53-piece “gamine chic” collection for target, a very tightly edited collection compared to the 500 missoni pieces that took target by storm. The goods look pretty cool, with a certain ladylike appeal to match that of Wu’s very pricey main line, and the prices are certainly cheap ranging from $30-60. CANT WAIT!!!
#3.

Maini for H&M= MAGIC!

Versace relaunches line for H&M...i smell sucess?
H&M is on fiyahhhh! They just announced its next designer collaboration will be with Italian fashion house Marni. The Swedish retailer caused global hysteria earlier this month when the Versace for H&M line went on sale, and its earlier collaborations with high-end brands such as Lanvin and Sonia Rykiel have been just as successful. It will be available in 260 stores worldwide and online as of March 8, 2012. Will you be buying? 2012 will also see the release of a second round of designs from Versace creative director Donatella, whose Fall 2012 sold out in just half an hour in some stores. Fans of the collection can start preparing for the launch of the Versace for H&M cruise collection. Last week a spokesperson for H&M confirmed Donatella’s Spring pre-collection will be available January 19, although only in countries where H&M has an e-commerce site such as the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway. Get your credit cards ready!
#2.

Oscar de la Renta for Beats by Dr. Dre

gime gimie gimie!!
Oscar de la Renta just released a set of luxe headphones in collaboration with Dr. Dre, which we are extremely excited about. The Beats by Dr. Dre headphones are covered in silver fox fur and of course, PETA has something to say about it. They sent a letter directly to Dre asking him to keep fur and exotic animal skins out of the product. Dre & Oscar haven’t made any comments about it yet- but lets just say I hope they stay just the way they are.
#1.

artist Yayoi Kusama for Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton’s collaboration with the late graffiti artist Stephen Sprouse in 2001 was probably the most exciting thing to happen to the monogrammed bag since the invention of the alphabet! Their newest collab with Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, who’s known for her red-and-white polka-dot art, might be just as brilliant. What fashionista doesnt have a soft spot for a little Lewy? Her spots will appear on LV products ranging from bags to clothing to jewelry this summer (though don’t plan on finding them on the Fashion Week runways in February)

My name is Diane Williams. I am a grandmum, and an executive with NuSkin Enterprises. We help people feel healthier and look younger, and empower them to build financial security. This makes me very happy.
I recently went on a wonderful Mediterranean cruise, and I took my Sienna Ray bag with me. It was the perfect companion – next to my husband. I typically carry everything in my bag – phone, makeup, notebook, wallet, brush, breathspray, and business planner. And while travelling, of course, I needed to add a camera, passport, map and hand sanitizer.
Everything fits neatly into my wonderful bag. And it looks slim, trim and beautiful. I absolutely love my Sienna Ray bag!

burberry prosum- a very "cruella de vil" vibe

roksanda ilincic- totally rad! (great color combo)

carven- i am craving it!

prabal gurung- pretty fabulous

emanuel ungaro- AHmazing
PETA we are sorry- but fur is just too fabulous! It seems that nearly every designer in the industry is making the rainbow connection & giving their plush pelts-fox, rabbit and mink vibrant dye jobs. (and I’m not complaining!) In times of an economic downturn, the fashion world looks to ways to renew our desire for luxury. Can you say contradiction? BUT in many ways it stands to reason that fur has played such a prominent role on the runways for years *running* the luxury upscale market. Colored furs have always been around, but they are back on the block and here to stay for winter2012. Santa is coming soon…is a psychedelic rabbit or mink on your Christmas list? x0

this AHmazing China Glaze polish does all the work for you with 2 easy coats

who would have thought you could wear that holiday sweater from your grandma on you nails? with a simple red base and white design polish, now you can.

subtle snowman- grab a light green base and spruce it up with a simple frosty the snow man design and snowflakes

going for that high fashion glam look? black is back! add a bit of holiday cheer with a simple gold accent
Here at Sienna Ray, we are ALL ABOUT the details. Haute holiday nails are the perfect accessory to your glammed out outfit. Instead of going for the “safe” red choice that you get every year- add some pizzaz! Christmas gives you that free pass to bring out your inner child, so that means nail designs are allowed (without looking like a 5 year old girl or flashy chunga). Our personal favs are the candy cane strips & china glaze all in one polish. What are your favs? Can’t wait to see what everyone is wearing this year for Christmas and New Years….post lots of pictures. xo

So many parties to attend, so little time…what’s a girl to do? We’ve got three words for you: gold, silver, and black. Whether it’s an office party, a Christmas party with your friends or a night out, here are some affordable looks that will wow the crowd at any party! They each represent a festive color; gold and glamorous, sassy and silver, and chic black! The question is, which look is your favorite?

the golden
If you love gold and sequins this is the time to shine! At Christmas and New Year’s parties anything goes and the more you sparkle the better! Keep the rest of the accessories in earthy tones to mellow out the sequins – you don’t want to look like a disco ball!

the silver
Do you want to feel like a modern day greek goddess for a night? Then this silver attire is just right for you. This stand out dress will give you a unique party look, which is perfect for both Christmas and New Year’s Eve. Pair the dress with the trendy feather earrings and a pair of grey shoes – because the dress is so shiny stick with more subtle shoe color.

the black
The little black dress will never go out of style and wearing a little black dress to a Christmas party is always a good option. Make it more exciting with gold accessories and details – like these lovelym high heels! This look is perfect for an office Christmas party, or another more formal, but festive event!

one of the hottest winter trends- "blue black"

grown out blonde- the "ombre" came into fashion over the last year or so. colorists have now perfected the art of the impeccable "fade"...who knew roots could look so good?

dark & daring- you have to have some serious kahunas to pull this one off. the trend is a dark base with bold vibrant shades of color such as purple, blue, red, and green.

dark chocolate brown- these hues make your skin look younger and more feminine

metallic blonde- it doesn’t look good on everyone...but, if you’re already a blonde, go a little lighter this season

red hot- the IT color this season and the great thing about it is that it works for almost all skin types
Ladies- remember your hair is your BEST accessory. Coloring your hair is the ultimate creative way to express your personal style and fashion sense. Serious trend influencers change their hair as they change their seasonal wardrobe. Don’t be afraid! Take some risks! We suggest that you start with something small, such as some highlights or lowlights (even an overall color booster) to ease you into the process. After you feel comfortable with the change try something new next time. And don’t worry- I know you do not want to poison your hair and make it dry or fried…there are some amazing organic and natural color products in the market now. So next time you go for that boring trim- take a chance on some color!

Here is our weekend wishlist. Classic-simple-elegant & ALWAYS trendy. Lets start from the basics- shoes! We are loving these suede and leather “Hammerstrom” ankle boots from Aldo Shoes, the best part is they are on sale $69.98!!! (what a steal). Next the staple of your outfit, your handbag. The Sienna Ray “mimi” geo-fold clutch is perfect for the weekend. It is surprisingly spacious, lightweight, and chic. Time for some pizazz! Instead of wearing a necklace, try these fringe drop dangle earrings from H&M $5.95, can’t beat that. Tie is all together with a classic gold Michael Kors watch from Macy’s $160. Who says you can’t look rich but shop cheap?

300 lbs of glitter & over $1 million worth of Swarovski crystal, what a beautiful night! I, like many other women (and some men) across America, sat down to watch the Victoria’s Secret 2011 Fashion Show. Loyally by my side sat a plate of cookies & a glass (or two) of wine.

having a blast at a private viewing of the show!
As can be expected I had a few minor “I want my stomach to look that toned” moments. Hard to not be a teensy jealous of Miranda Kerr’s amazing workout results post pregnancy. However, my heart melted with how publicly proud Orlando Bloom was, watching his wife in her natural element. True love and devotion between the two of them was clearly what made her so capable of maintaining a healthy family while enchanting the world as an Angel.

Romance underneath all that glitz & glam!
While admiring how beautiful and confident these young women are I was captivated by each gorgeous detail of the costumes. Obviously, the much raved $2.5 million dollar bra!

Miranda Kerr takes to the runway!
These wings reportedly took over SEVEN years to make! How excited is Alessandra that she was chosen to wear them? Looking at her, it’s hard to believe these weighed 30lbs. Alessandra adjusted her workouts to strengthen her back in preparation for these wings! Such a gorgeous result, they perfectly accompanied the Victoria’s Secret equivalent of a little black dress, the little black bra!

Fascinating use of over 100,000 crystals!
I’ve decided I would like some wings, I would like to walk down the runway with music playing and 300 lbs of glitter in the air! Until that day, I will continue admiring the confidence and poise each of these Angels emulates.

stack em up ladies!

party on!

a great watch is key

it's an arm party...and your invited
Whoever said “less is more” clearly lost their invite. It’s as simple as this- go Big or go Home! The latest trend on all fashion influencers is the arm party: meaning LOTS of bracelets, cuffs, charms, and even strips of string or leather. Lets start from the basic invites. Threaded bracelets are considered the “furniture” of the party and can add a bit of “coolness” or youth in between your staples. Threaded bracelets can also be interchangeable with more traditional friendship bracelets or strips of leather tied. Next lets add in some metal pieces. Chains, spikes, snakes, & skulls…bring it baby! Now to the VIP invites: bust out your most prized pieces in your jewelry box- cartier, marc jacobs cuffs, vintage watch, or large leather snap band from your trip to Europe.
Now to help you get your arm party in order, here are some adorbs pieces to start with

pieces to start your party
Not only have you transformed your arm to a party- its a full blown rager!

Johnny Cash- The original man in black, and the only one.

Andre 3000 -"Anybody can wear crazy clothes and anybody can wear classic clothes. Balancing the two can be an art."

Marvin Gaye- There is so much style on the cover of What's Going On that it hurts.

Mick Jagger- Sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll, and polka-dot scarves. "Do you have the moves like jagger?"

Elvis Presley- The King was comfortable in stripes-over-stripes. Automatic pass.

Jay Z- The king of what? The king of styyyle."

Frank Sinatra- The Chairman of the Board: always proper, always drink in hand.

Beastie Boys- Take a walk down to your local sneakerhead store and take a look around at the Beastie Boys.

The Smiths - Looking good even without Morrissey!
Wow! They are the definition of “style” in the music industry. These trend setters have influenced pop culture over the years and continue to make their mark in fashion. Don’t drool too much!

Entrance of Barney's NYC-Leave it to Lady Gaga to turn Christmas into a holiday for her Little Monsters.

Macy's Herald Square was all about charities this year- their theme was "make a wish"

it's all about the "snow & bubbles" this year for the famous Saks Fifth Avenue window

Bloomingdales' windows showcase designs that were used on previous years holiday shopping bags.

"What is Christmas made of?" Lord & Taylor teamed up with children in nearby schools and rescue shelters to and featured their drawings as inspiration for this years holiday windows.

"fantasy world" pretty much sums up Bergdorf's windows this year. It can be described as "Narnia" meets "Under the Sea".
I hope we inspired you to check out this amazing holiday windows! It only happens once a year- so bundle up, grab some hot cocoa, and get on it! Here is a walking map of the windows, have fun! xo

Carin Wester "marrakesh" turban from Urban Outfitters

Eugenia Kim "dominique" hand-knit turban hat
Hats are instant style ooomphers. In days when you can’t think of anything to wear, just put on something casual then add a nice hat. Ta-da! Fab in an instant! The latest craze in fashion are turbans. This international inspiration piece has been around for a while, but has recently gained much recognition. The best part about a turban is they look good on everyone- long hair, short hair, curly hair, or straight hair. Turban hats also come in a variety of colors and fabrics. We reccomend a shinny satin piece (you can add a brouche for some bling) for evening or holiday event, a printed turban to spice up a plain outfit, and a cotton/knit option for a casual look. If you choose to make your own turban you can actually create one with an old scarf. Here are the steps:

steps to creating a turban
We can’t wait to see what you come up with! Make sure you post some pics of wearing one (even tag us in it).

grateful cranberry cocktail

poinsettia cocktail

pass the turkey cocktail

cheers to you!
The time of year for cranberries is here! Thanksgiving is around the corner, and plan on celebrating without a cocktail, don’t you? (Or maybe instead of celebrating, you’ll just be coping with relatives. Either way, a cocktail is in order.) Here are some fabulous cranberry cocktails for your holiday:
1. Grateful Cranberry Cocktail: This fall cranberry cocktail is perfect for Thanksgiving. It’s light enough that it won’t compete with a plate full of turkey and mashed potatoes. But the unique mixture of cranberry, honey, bourbon, green tea and ginger ale is full enough to satisfy the taste buds.
-1 1/2 oz. bourbon
-1 oz. cranberry-honey syrup
-Green tea flavored ginger ale
-Frozen cranberries
-Crushed ice
Fill collins glass three-quarters full with crushed ice and frozen cranberries. Pour in bourbon and syrup, then top off with ginger ale.
2. Poinsettia Cocktail: This classic champagne cocktail is wonderful for holiday entertaining. Light and refreshing, the Poinsettia Cocktail ads an extra bit of holiday cheer to any gathering.
- Champagne
- 1/2 oz. Cointreau
- 3 oz. Cranberry Juice
Add chilled Cointreau and Cranberry to chilled champagne glass. Stir and top with Champagne just before serving.
3. Pass the Turkey: Make this bourbon creation paired with cranberry, cider, sage and thyme and you won’t be sorry.
- 1.5 oz. Wild Turkey 101
- 2 oz. apple cider
- 1 tbs. cranberry jelly
- 1 sprig fresh sage
- 1 sprig fresh thyme
Muddle sage and thyme with apple cider. Add ice, top with Wild Turkey and cranberry jelly. Shake well, strain over ice in a glass rimmed with turkey juice and breadcrumbs.
ENJOY!

black shellac long lasting manicure

beyonce rockin the metallic minx (shoulda put a ring on it)

celebs are loving the minx- Katy Perry

Ri-ri reppin a minx manicure

3 step process for Sally Hansen nail stickers

funky patterns & bright colors - Sally Hansen stickers
Listen up ladies, we have the inside scoop for manicures that last more then a week. We all know that in the fashion industry nails are part of your complete outfit- they are also the first thing a potential client can notice while shaking hands. Who has the time to sit in a nail salon weekly? As women, we are constantly on the go and manicures tend to chip easily. Try out these three solutions to a long lasting manicure and see which one works best for you:
Shellac- Shellac is billed as the ultimate long-lasting manicure, and as I can’t keep my nails neat for more than three days, I was unable to say no to the chance of perfect nail polish for up to two weeks. Shellac combines the resilient finish of a gel nail overlay with the ease of paint-on color. The application process is simple. A clear base coat is applied, which is then ‘cured’ for 20 seconds in an ultraviolet lightbox. Two coats of colored polish follow, each of which needs a minute’s curing, then a high-gloss top-coat, a final 20-second blast of light and, voila, it’s all done. The average shellac manicure runs about $40.
Minx- Minx nails are the latest rage in Hollywood, and the trend is quickly picking up everywhere else. Celebrities like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Rhianna are big fans, and the manicures were seen on the Paris Fashion Week runways, and in Vogue, Allure, Elle and In Style. Minx nails are a heated, flexible film that fit on top your nails, like a sticker. Your Minx manicurist will trim them up and seal them onto your nail. They are waterproof, chip-proof and chemical free. (AH-mazing!) The price of Minx nails range from $30-$55…but well worth it.
Sally Hanson Nail Stickers- If you are running low on cash & time try out Sally Hanson’s do it yourself nail stickers. These aren’t like the nail stickers of childhood, i.e. stick-ons of flowers or stars. Sally Hansen strips are made with real nail polish, and are supposed to look like they were painted onto your nails. The nail strips come in 24 different styles ranging from bright solids like orange and yellow to a multitude of patterns including animal prints, glitters, camo, and denim. Three easy steps and you are on your way to fabulous fingers! The best part about Sally Hanson’s are the price $9.99 a pack.

I heard a lovely quote this morning, “Summer for the weather, Winter for the fashion”. Someone is surely reading my mind!! Just maybe there is some truth to this 11/11/11 making for a magical day? I believe it.
I love the sun.
I love feeling the rays beat on my back on the beach while I lose myself in a novel. The brilliant sunshine makes me all the more excited for excursions of various length and distance. However, I think I love layering my outfits just as much as all of that, if not more. I embrace being able to capture a timeless look of sophistication with a classic LBD and other key pieces. My closet thrives on an extensive collection of neutral colors. I then utilize this bold canvas with various accessories that pop color and portray theme’s to showcase how I am feeling that day. I find this much more fun to do in the winter months than the warmer months.
I am really coveting colored tights this season. I am hoping to combine my love for sweater tights with this newest obsession. Digging back into the archives of Milan’s Fall/Winter Fashion Week 2011 there were many colored sweater tights to be seen. I recently picked up a gorgeous blue suede mini the other day that would like brilliant with some mustard or wine tights.

What is your favorite part of the seasons?

loving the lychee
Are you tired of paying $15 bucks for a drink at those trendy restaurants and bars? This drink is refreshing, Asian-inspired, and sure to impress your guests or that someone special. Have you ever tried a lychee martini? If not you are missing out! This sweet (and powerful) cocktail is much stronger then it sounds. One of the most important characteristics of this cocktail is the sweet fragrance and flavor of the lychee. A good lychee martini should smell and taste like lychee. Here is a supper simple recipe for you to try:
ingredients:
- 5 ice cubes
- 1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vodka
- 1 fluid ounce peach schnapps
- 1 fluid ounce white cranberry juice
- 1 ounce lychee juice (from a can of lychees)
- 1 lychee, for garnish
Steps:
- Place ice into a cocktail shaker. Pour in vodka, peach schnapps, cranberry juice, and lychee juice. Cover and shake vigorously until the outside of the cocktail shaker has frosted.
- Strain into a chilled martini glass; garnish with a lychee fruit.
Enjoy your drink!

Funny girl Amy Adams was spotted hitting the streets on a shopping spree sporting her leather shoulder strap. Sienna Ray’s “milfie” is known as the unofficial mum bag. the race runners

three cheers for you!

the thrill of the finish line
Throw on your stretchies and Nike gear- it’s all going down this Sunday, November 6 starting at 8:30am. The ING New York City Marathon is one of the world’s largest great road races, attracting more than 100,000 applicants annually. The marathon course goes through some culturally diverse neighborhoods, crosses five bridges, and finishes in world-famous Central Park. (yikes! that’s a long run) More than two million spectators flock the sidelines, cheering for the runners the entire way- what an amazing accomplishment. If you are not the “running” type no worries! The marathon has live entertainment, cheering stations, and a great way to tour NYC.

shopping for a bargain

inside NYC's "the market"
These days everyone is searching for a good bargain, “the market” NYC is the perfect weekend stop to shop. Located on a block that is pretty quiet during the week, St. Patrick’s Youth Center’s gymnasium at 268 Mulberry Street is transformed into a wonderland of independent fashion every Saturday and Sunday. This trendy indoor market has become the showcase for some of the city’s best independent designers setting up tables and racks of cutting edge handmade clothing, jewelry, handbags, hats and more recently, artwork. Some designers have even opened up their own boutiques but they still remain loyal by selling each weekend at the Market. The Market attracts a mixed crowd of shoppers each weekend, including tourists from around the world, locals looking for the next big fashion trend, and there’s the occasional celebrity sighting too – Leonardo DiCaprio (incognito) has been seen picking up a t-shirt or two, Debra Messing likes the jewelry, and Sienna Miller. You never know what you’re going to find!

champagne campaign

moet gold case- top of the line

asti dolce- ballin on a budget
Who says champagne is only for special occasions? We believe that everyday is a celebration (the little things in life), or otherwise known as a “champagne campaign.” Do you know that champagne first gained it’s reputation because of it’s association with the anointment of French Kings? Europe decided to spread the message of this fab sparkling wine and it became a symbol of luxury and power. Now to the good stuff! Here is a little tip for you: pouring champagne while tilting the glass at an angle and gently sliding the liquid along the side will help you with all of those bubbles! (you can impress while your pour) If you are ready to dish out the doe then your best bet is a bottle of Moet. If you are ballin on a budget then we suggest a bottle of Asti- amazing taste for a cheap price. Also keep in mind if you want a sweet taste instead of brut look for the word “dolce” on the bottle. Enjoy for champagne…and don’t forget to share! ;)

fabulous "fred clous" flats
I think that almost every fashionable women in the world has a new pair of “loubs” on their wish list. Christian Louboutin’s are usually known for their sky high stilettos with signature red bottoms- but these babies have stole my heart (and I’m sure yours too)! These fabulous “fred clous” flats are a bit more delicate then last seasons “fred flat spikes”, yet remain supper edgy at the same time. Of course there is one tiny catch to these puppies…their price tag at hefty $1, 295! (hey if you got it flaunt it)

oxford studded flats by urbanog $22.20

primlico studded brogues from topshop $180

"stud-ies" show flats from modcloth $44.95
If you are balling on a budget try these options. They might not be Christian Louboutins BUT they are still supper trendy and have the same style aesthetic. (plus way more affordable)

softly sexy

the tools to achieve a soft look
Who says bright shades are only for nights out? You can wear them anywhere- as long as you follow the 20% rule. (swipe makeup on your upper lids and lips, 20% of your face) This season iridescent lavender liner is killer on the eyes! To get the perfect look do two swipes against top lashes to create a think line, then top it with a similar shade of shadow for all day staying power. Add some mascara to the tops lashes and throw on some pink bubblegum lip gloss for that final touch.

seductive & classic

neutrals & bold lips
A neutral palette looks way edgier when you mix up different textures. To achieve this seductive look keep the eyes shimmery and the lips matte. The best way to start is by putting on the darkest product first, in this case the lipstick…I know that seems a little backwards. Putting the darkest product first prevents you from being heavy-handed everywhere else. The next step is adding on eyeliner to your lower inner rims- followed by a bronze shadow on your lid, creating an arc affect. Almost done, add some mascara and your good to go!

haunted halloween host- blood manor

scary ghosts & clowns

terrifying music
Think haunted houses are for kids? Then you haven’t experienced NYC’s Blood Manor haunted house- 5,000 square feet of terror. This bloodcurdling labyrinth takes you through twenty themed rooms of horror including: the graveyard of the doomed, killer clowns, disgraceland, the cabaret of death, and zombie apocalypse. Combining the high value production of a Broadway show with the thrill of a go-go bar..this Halloween is definitely adult proofed. Their attention to detail is seriously impressive and although the sets are amazing, it’s the actors that truly set Blood Manor apart from the rest of NYC’s Halloween attractions. Cast members don’t hesitate to lunge at, follow and tease visitors, even while taking a fair amount of heckling from tipsy tourists. The attraction will be taking place 163 Varick Street from October 7-November 5…don’t be a scaredy cat!

can you keep up with the haunted bar crawl?

choose your weapon
New York City is buzzing about Halloween plans, which night to celebrate, and where to go. The scoop is officially in! Gather your ghouls and gals and start early on Saturday, October 29 for a haunted bar crawl! The party starts at 12 noon and goes till 9pm, the crawl hits some of the wildest pubs in the city: McFadden’s Saloon, Sutton Place, Turtle Bay, The Irish Exit NYC, Blarney Stone Bar, O’Casey’s, Public house, Josuha Tree, The Hill, Stone Creek, and ending at the Hype Lounge. Who likes to stay in one place on Halloween (we know you don’t)- go crazy and tear up the night. Not only is this spooky treat a great time, it is also an awsome value! (we know how nights out in nyc tend to get pricey) The bar crawl ticket is only $10 AND you get the best drink specials in the house at each pub you visit. Can’t beat that!

Who says you can’t be a star? Halloween is the perfect day where you can be ANYONE you want- including a celebrity. We know how creative you can be! Remember when you used to make your own Halloween costumes growing up? Remember when trick-or-treating was the highlight of your season, it still can be- with a little ambition and imagination. Here are some fab celeb costume ideas- and the best part is we will tell you exactly what pieces you need to make the look come together.

these creative chicks captured the essence of the Olsen twins!
These chickas have some serious style! Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen is a delicious duo for Halloween. The above image is a costume that two ladies put together themselves. It is supper easy to do, and of course let’s make it your own! Here’s what you will need:
- your best friend (or sister) to be the 2nd twin
- 1 long black dress & 1 long white dress- you can switch it up by using gray, nude, brown or any neutrals (the twins do not wear much color)
- a long jacket (anything vintage works great)- don’t be afraid to hit your local thrift store!
- huge sunglasses
- blonde wigs (if you don’t have blonde hair)
- hippie headbands
- black nail polish
- 2 empty starbucks cups (or full depending on what ur drinkin!)…add some flare by writing their names in sharpie on each cup
- have your blackberry or iphone in had
- and most importantly LOTS of accessories- rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings & of course your fav Sienna Ray cross body or tote

queen barbie- Nicki Minaj
Barbie is back…queen Barbie Nicki Minaj that is! This rap star diva is a fun look that will keep you energetic & fierce all night. Here is what you’ll need to complete the look
- a bright pink wig (doesn’t matter if you choose long or short- play around with the idea)
- cropped leather jacket
- black leather leggings
- tight corset & bright colored push up bra
- tall strappy stilettos
- bright neon colored nail polish
- baby pink lipstick
- barbie necklace (check claires)
- if you really want to get creative sub the corset for a short colorful poofy dress

outrageous gaga
Of course how could this celeb Halloween list not have the ultimate pop-star Lady GaGa! This outrageous fashionista is known for her out of control style. There are MANY lady gaga looks you could try for your costume (if your daring enough)- but this one is a no brainer. Here’s what your need:
- a hooded leotard (you could choose any color you like)- of course from American Apparel
- long blonde wig with bangs
- rayband esc sunglasses
- long gloves (choose to match your leotard or add in some extra color)
- if your not willing to bare all of that leg try some sexy fishnet tights
- your choice of thigh-high boots or ridiculously high pumps- the crazier the shoe, the better
Good luck with your costume, hope this helps! Don’t forget to post your pictures- we can’t wait to see what you come up with! Happy Halloween ;)

OPI's fall "touring america" collection
Fall is here- and so is all of the fabulous treats that come along with the season. I like to think the most symbolic trait of Autumn is not that changing of the leaves, but the changing of the nail polish! With the first breath of fall we rub off those neons & pinks- slap on a coat of black polish, and sprint to the nearest Starbucks to wrap them around a pumpkin spice latte as soon as they are dry. This year as trend setters, we must explore the rest of the dark side. Navy, charcoal grey, burgundy, chocolate and dark greens, purples, browns and reds are some fabulous (and more transitional) color options. Here are some of my personal favs I wanted to share with you:

black beauty- butter matte finish

the final outcome of black matte polish

Chanel "peridot"- wins most unique color this season

Dior's slightly metallic "tuxedo" polish

you can never go wrong with the classic essie "wicked"

biggest names in the business!

nyc's "magical" madison sqaure garden
Celebrating it’s 11th year, Jingle Ball (Clear Channel Radio) will light up New York City on December 9th at Madison Square Garden. What is “Jingle Ball” you ask? (unless you live under a rock)- it is ONLY the biggest concert of the year where every major artist in music teams up to put on an amazing series of shows….not to mention the star studded celebs that usually introduce each act. This past Friday (Oct 21) Miss Demi Lovato joined the z100 team at Areopostale’s Time Square store to make the official announcement of the mind-blowing lineup for 2011: Lady Gaga, Pitbull, Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato, David Guetta, LMFAO, Foster the People, Gym Class Heroes and Hot Chelle Rae. Special guest hosts will include: Kim Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian Odom, Lamar Odom and Karmin, with more to be announced.
How can this concert get any better? Every year Z100′s Jingle Ball gives back to the community to celebrate the holiday season. This year’s official charity partner for Z100′s Jingle Ball is STOMP Out Bullying, a national anti-bullying/cyberbullying program for kids and teens. Fabulous & philanthropic! Tickets for this holiday bash will go on sale exclusively to ZVIP members via Ticketmaster starting Nov 1 at 4pm ET….tickets can get pretty pricey. If you can’t score them this year- no worries! Jingle Ball 2011 will kick off with the action-packed Z100 & Coca Cola’s All Access Lounge. The FREE event will include performances by Z100 artists and meet & greets with fan favorites. The FREE (did i mention free?) indoor festival will feature music as well as interactive displays from some of today’s hottest brands and products. The event will take place from 12 – 6 p.m. ET at Hammerstein Ballroom. See you there!

modern day tea party

gaga sporting that teacup better then a birkin bag

west village nyc- The Tea Set
As you know New York City has always been a coffee town, it’s suddenly facing serious competition from a more delicate ladylike drink. Beautiful blondes aren’t the only tea fans- jet setters, pop stars and Wall Street gurus are buzzing over the leafy brew too! Facebook and Napster Co-Founder Sean Parker boasts a collection of more then 100 exotic teas, and Lady GaGa totes around a teacup like it’s a Birkin bag. New York’s fashion scene, (of course) is way ahead of the trend…duh. Almost every major designer has held a celebratory tea reception/tea party. This “chic” thing to do can also be an economic factor- instead of throwing a fancy lunch or cocktail reception; they’ll throw a tea party! Didn’t get your invite to one of these fab celeb studded tea parties? No worries- NYC suddenly has some supper sweet teashops popping up all over the city. If your in the West Village check out The Tea Set (cozy nook that seats 25), Soho home to Harney & Sons (tea store & tasting bar), and Upper East Side perfectly suits William Poll (a tea-sandwich shop).
Adding Champagne to the mix probably doesn’t dent the devotion of the young and thirsty, either. The Tea Set has created a tea-rrific $15 cocktail by mixing bubbly with syrup made from the store’s bestseller, Red Peach Vanilla tea… now that sounds like my cup of tea! After all, tea is perfect for frenzied New Yorkers with a big caffeine habit and little piece of mind. Tea promotes harmony and balance of life- drinking tea is an art of living.

After several days hiatus I have returned. If you would like a sneak peek at what kept me so busy this weekend, take a look! A big thanks to Rob Daly for this weekend, so lovely for you to make the trip! The weather here in NYC has continued to tease me. 70+ degrees Fahrenheit some days and not a drop of rain to be seen! I loathe the couple of days with inconsistent heavy rains, however, as much as my mood (& skin) will miss the constant sunshine, I cannot pretend I am not excited for a real AUTUMN weekend. With the Holidays just around the corner, I only have several weekends before the sequence of extended family gatherings begins (aka lots of traveling and not always on my own personal terms!).
Here are a couple of the things on the bucket list for this glorious fall…
Gotta love my WINE: I’ve heard from many of my girlfriends that the vineyard tours on Long Island are a must do! Many come with package deals for wine tastings at several neighboring vineyards: why get all that way for one, the more the merrier! Ironic as it is, I do not really think of the east coast of America when I think of wine. This ‘just outside the city’ adventure seems similar to a vineyard tour I went on last year in the gorgeous landscape of Oregon. Oh, the memories…

Bringing out the CHILD in me: Might I suggest venturing to the pumpkin patch very soon! With the beautiful weekends we have been having, I am sure the patch has been quite the hotspot for families, teens, young couples and really anyone (like me) that get’s all giddy over every little holiday throughout the year! A popular favorite, again out on Long Island, is the long standing Helen’s with a corn maze for the children, hot apple cider and a beautiful country view for a bit of FALL romance, and of course pumpkins for carving and recipes galore. I’m sure there are many in the tri-state area to get your Halloween sweet tooth fulfilled!
It definitely seems that Long Island is not just an escape from the summer humidity, but a great little weekend escape from the city for any season! Although NYC may be what brings people to this area… clearly there are hidden gems to be seen in the surrounding areas. Though, I personally do not want to miss the HARD Haunted NYC affair at Terminal 5! Skream and Benga, original dubstep DJ’s from the UK (a step away and above mainstream dubstep sounds) are performing with Joker this Saturday. I came across this tempting night out on the list of Fall activities (101 to be specific) in the latest TimeOut - be sure to check out number 74 for pumpkin patch fun IN the city. So excited to finally spend a long night dancing until the morning with the floors throbbing under my feet and flashing lights all around me.
What are you doing this weekend?
Sienna Ray xx

love layering with sequins!

perfect pieces for layering a dress

kick it up a notch- layering your pants look

the sweet and sassy look- layering a skirt

be a trend setter- fashionable & fun layering
Listen up ladies, the hottest trendy tip for fall is leaning how to layer your clothing. There are so many ways to layer your look- some of them can make your outfit different and personal, and some of them can make you look like a hot mess! The most important thing to keep in mind when layering is colors and textures. Avoid using too many layers…3 things on top is enough (you don’t want to look bulky). When it comes to colors neutrals are key for a classic or polished look, they have low saturation and can give your layering a harmonious touch. For a sassy and stylish look mix different fabrics- you can never go wrong with a little sequins! Remember layering is not only for the upper part of your body. Layer the bottom half with tights, leggings, and over the knee socks peeping out of high boots is always fashionable. Keep it classy or sass it up depending on your mood and personal style.

brazilian rockers

css making a loud statement

wacky neon & bold fashion
Css is an abbreviation for Cansei de Ser Sexy, which literally means, “got tired of being sexy.” This Brazilian rock band from São Paulo is labeled as part of the explosive “new rave” underground scene. Their catchy electronic hipster songs are in both English and Portuguese. The cool story behind their name was actually inspired by a quote from a Beyoncé song, who allegedly declared that she was “tired of being sexy.” The bands funky style and fierce spunk seem to be getting a lot of attention in the fashion world. During a trip to Paris I heard this awsome runway song on a TV fragrance commercial and was DYING to know who the artist was. Chloe featured CCS’s “Let’s Make Love and Listen to Death From Above” in their fragrance add! Not only is this song amazing, but also their whole album has a very different sound…CSS is not afraid to express themselves through their style.

Our roxy (for short) is a compact version of the milife bag, it’s dual compartments & straps allow you to store and go effortlessly. Going out on the weekends is so over rated,…and over crowded. “Thirsty Thursday” is the perfect night to meet with friends and unwind, why not do it rooftop style? The trendy chic Empire Hotel located on the upper west side is a spot where beautiful people sip delicious cocktails and take in the amazing view. How great is the view might you ask? Let me warn you… this post will result in the inability to tear yourself from your screen. Should you be at work – making your habitual coffee break stopover to “Sienna’s Stories” amongst your favourite blog updates – you may wish to halt and revisit at closing time before the distraction gets the best of you!
It has happened.
A genius has created a way for me to haul my inspiration boards from place to place, across America, and overseas! They call it Pinterest. (Oh, not to worry, they have an iPhone app). Whether you are a D-I-Y gal, clotheshorse, interior decorator, or iron chef, there are countless categories to create your very own digital inspiration board.
Addictive? Yes. Dangerous….? I should say not! After all, compiling all my ideas always leads to my best !
However, I have already begun to redecorate my apartment, which dangerously led me to “pinning” ideas onto a new board for my dream home. Even better, instead of ripping out magazine photos and raving about fabric swatches, I have zillions of wedding ideas at the tips of my fingers. As I pin away every idea seems possible and I am lost in a dream of extravagant weddings, resort worthy backyards, and outfit ideas for children that I do not have. Have I mentioned the best part? I was notified that someone began to follow all my boards! Off to exploring their compilation of boards, obviously…
DRUM ROLL PLEASE
What did I spy?? Not one but two, Sienna Ray’s from our Autumn 2011 collection! This pin was so elegantly placed on the board titled: “Fall Wardrobe Must Have’s” Clearly at this moment I could not agree with them more! Needless to say, I was inspired! This encounter combined with a very seasonal recipe, left me very suitably pinned. Give this a try!!

terrible poof & terrible tan

perfect tan with no damage- spray booth

top of the line uv free self tanning products
Hey ladies, fall is here and it is coming to that time of the year- put those bathing suits away and pull out the sweaters. No more beach doesn’t have to mean no more tan! A healthy sun kissed glow goes perfectly with every outfit no natter what season you are in. I wonder if someone told Snooki that UV exposure can causes dry leathery skin. Not only does it look bad-but it’s essentially melanoma waiting to happen. There are 100’s of sunless tanning products out there, and these days that orange look is a thing of the past. Bye-bye carrot and hello beautiful! One great option is a spray tan- if you can’t afford personal application by a professional, try the booths. The west way to go is self-tanning -beauty experts have now perfect these products to provide the most natural look. After much research and personal options from fellow women, the best products on the market right now are: Aveeno Continuous Radiance Moisturizing lotion, Clarins Self Tanning Instant Gel, Jergens Natural Glow Express, and L’Occitane Sunshine Lotion. Remember pale is stale and tan is trendy.

preggers & still sexy

"audrey hepburn" inspired beyonce

audrey hepburn in funny face
Baby bump Beyonce gets her ‘Audrey Hepburn” on for her new 60′s inspired “Countdown” video. This glamorous diva can pull off any look, pregnant and all! Her main character in the video is inspired by ‘Audrey Hepburn’ in Funny Face, mimicking the look in all black, long sleeves, and white socks with flats. In the video Beyonce is seen wearing a full closet’s worth of fun 60′s gear in dozens of variations of herself while keeping a glowing smile. The concept might be simple, but Beyonce’s intricate dance numbers and split screen effect brings a lot of energy and sass. Who else can be preggers and still dance like that? She has proved no matter what the circumstance may be- she will continue making outstanding music. Can you say fierce?!

Our lives are forever changed & enriched by the products continually produced by Apple. Of course Apple products may not belong on the same pedestal of water, oxygen and other nutrients necessary for life… Nonetheless, in my mind they fall to a very close second or third. (Not to mention the fact that I received an iMac in grade school which I then to my delight upgraded several times.)
Steve Jobs has changed the world of technology forever. Ten years ago, in October of 2001, Apple introduced the iPod. The concept of a music player had been done before. Technical associates, salespeople and research analysts all had commented that the price Apple decided on was the worst decision ever and that it would go, nowhere. Two years later the same comments were made about the iTunes music store and paying for virtual music files. As we all know now, not only were these successful ventures, but the predecessors for so much more (including for many other copycats).
Many tend to overlook his past projects, or were not around when these events took place. Steve pioneered the process of placing advanced forms of technology into the hands of people to use in their everyday lives. Apple may not be branded a PC but it was the first and most user friendly “personal computer” to ever exist. Apple continued to first develop their line of desktop computers with innovative varieties then turned to laptop computers, to handheld. However, that is too simple a statement for the transformation all these ventures had on the world of technology. (Pirates of Silicon Valley, a great story of Steve Jobs & Bill Gates).
As he leaves us, he managed to impress us once more with the boundaries he breaks with each update. Many do not realize how revolutionary the soon to be released iPhone update is. Just as in the past, people spoke negatively of the possibility for the iPhone to possess Siri. Which according to Apple, is “the intelligent assistant that’s there to help. Just ask. Ask Siri to make calls, send texts, set reminders and more”. The Siri will instruct your iPhone to perform tasks with just the sound of your voice. THIS WILL MAKE LIFE SO EASY! (I thought he had already made it as easy for us as he was capable of, especially with walking GPS apps!)
It takes people like Steve Jobs to really go in and change things, to make things happen. Not to worry, he has built a great team of successors, I still expect great things from Apple.

breath taking napa valley winery

vintage red wine from napa valley
There is only one thing that comes to mind when we reach this day of the week, “Thirsty Thursday”! It is time to kick back and unwind with a great glass of wine. Napa Valley, located in northern California, is known as the mecca of wineries and vineyards. Why not kick off your Napa Valley excursion with an adventurous wine tour? The tours point out landmarks-wineries along the way, and tell stories about local history and winemaking. The best part of the tour is tasting some of the world’s most delicious wines!
I know what your thinking…not everyone has the funds to visit Napa Valley for a wine tasting tour. Lucky for you every major city has a first-class winery or local wine events that offer tasting selections to fit everyone’s unique palette. If you’re located in NYC check out local wine events to get your drink on.

This morning, opening my curtains I was greeted by numerous rays of sunshine. However, stepping out of the front door I was welcomed with the crisp bite of Mother Nature, FALL IS UPON US!
I look forward to this day, a lover of all seasons; I tend to play favorites with Fall. As this weather approaches we all come to find that our outerwear and accessories bear more importance to us than the underneath. Bring on the layers, bring on the boots, and bring on the soup!
There are countless symbols that Summer is over & Fall is upon us. I know for some it hits earlier during annual Labor Day celebrations, ironically a day typically paired with pouring rain and not a single ray of sunshine. For others, it is when Starbucks brings back the pumpkin spice latte or endless sales as stores make room for previews of Winter Collections. For me, Fall creeps up, but has not fully arrived until that first perfect day dictated solely by mother nature.
Which is why I am so excited to dust off my fall wardrobe for what I hope will be a full week of Fall. One pair of boots I am most looking forward to debuting is the Banana Republic “Ryder Rainboot”. The perfect choice when the weather will most assuredly be unpredictable but it is important to look polished, work appropriate, while still battling the bad weather.

The past couple weeks I pulled on boots with tall socks only to end up sweating by the afternoon. The next day I opted for my trademark trench and rain boots, which I ended up carrying around instead of wearing. I was a little too eager to start the Fall season. Good news is, I have reusable bags stored everywhere for these kind of situations (thank you multiple Anthropologie purchases).
So, as I finally reopen the Fall section of my “Great Food Fast” Martha Stewart cookbook I will share my favorite cold weather soup with you! What do you look forward to most about the change of seasons? Besides an excuse for soup every day, the change of seasons for me marks an excuse for a new pair of boots, or several.
Sienna Ray xx
Pureed Butternut Squash Soup (adapted from FE “Great Food Fast”)
Serves 4 – Prep Time: 25 minutes – Total Time: 45 minutes

Pureed Butternut Squash Soup
- 2 Tbsp. Butter
- 1 Small Onion, chopped
- 1 piece (2 in) peeled fresh ginger, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 2 ¾ pounds small butternut squash, peeled, seeds removed, and flesh cut into ¾-inch cubes
- ¼ cup fresh orange juice ( I have been known to add more depending on the taste, especially if I am serving it cold)
- Coarse salt and fresh ground pepper
1. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Cook the onion until fragrant (about 2 minutes). Add the ginger, garlic and squash to the saucepan. Stir occasionally for 6-8 minutes. Then stir in 4 cups of water. Bring entire mixture to a boil; then reduce the heat. Simmer until the squash is tender, about 20 minutes.
2. Puree the soup in two separate batches. Stir in the orange juice (again to taste) and 1tsp or so of salt. Serve hot with pepper if desired!
Tip: When blending hot foods, allow the heat to escape to prevent spattering. Remove the cap from the hole of the blender’s lid and cover the hole with a dishtowel while blending.

Named after all of the fashionable hot momas of the world, Sienna Ray’s “milfie” handbag has it all…and more. Featuring two size adjustable compartments with inner zip pockets, as well as an easy to reach outer pocket, this bag has a place for everything. Long rolled handles and an optional cross-body strap enables the bag to be carried in a variety of different ways, making it extremely functional.

everything you need for fall and more
Colored leaves, cool breeze, and pumpkin spice lattes (yumm) can only mean one thing…October has arrived and fall is in full swing. Finally we can express our fashion creativity with lots of layers and great seasonal accessories. Bring on the fur, tights, sweaters, and scarves! My favorite fall theme pieces this year can be summed up with long sleeve dresses, anything that’s knit, ponchos, and fur vests. Keep it clean with muted tones of tan, camel, light rose, and add some deep purple for a pop of color. Some great affordable finds displayed on our trend board include: an orche jacquard tunic sweater dress from Miss Selfridge, cream floral print snood scarf from Topshop, and a canny curry blazer by MBYM. Did somebody say fall shopping spree?

Open Mic Night presents: “jovette” fold-over tote in caramel. This handbag would fit Vanessa Hundgens look perfectly! It is a functional 5-9 piece that features a roomier design and can easy transform into a fab night bag by simply adjusting the strap.

changing from heels to flats in a few easy steps

black patent leather-great for work

black "mariella" strappy heels
What an amazing concept from shoe-company Camileon Heels …wish I have thought of this! How many times have you caught yourself running to catch the subway or trying to haul a cab in your stilettos? This adjustable shoe gives you the option to convert your heel to a flat in a few simple steps.
The main question we must ask ourselves as trendsetters simply comes down to this…are we choosing comfort or fashion? Even though this is one Ah-mazing idea, Camileon Heels does not offer a large variety of fashionable styles and materials for their shoes. Are these adjustable shoes really going to give the same affect as our fabulous designer 5inchers? I think not, go big or go home. The company is dedicated to improving design, fit, and comfort as they move forward. I will definitely keep an on Camileon Heels to see how they progress into fashion “must-haves”.
To test these out for yourself, head to the Camileon Heels website.
